About Me
Midwifery isn't just my job, its my passion.
My journey, from deciding to become a midwife to creating 'Behind the Birth', has always been driven by a single purpose: to provide the best possible care for expectant families.
I was drawn to a career in the NHS because I saw the profound difference healthcare professionals make. Combining this with my absolute fascination for the science of pregnancy and birth, midwifery was the perfect fit.

The need for better education.
Over the years I have seen families consistently let down by a lack of good quality, evidence-based antenatal education. In the UK there is extremely little regulation about who can teach antenatal classes and I’ve seen women misinformed and frightened by their educators. This experience drove me to create 'Behind the Birth.' I am dedicated to helping you truly understand what is happening to your body, promoting feelings of normality and confidence throughout all kinds of birth experiences.
I am a rotational midwife, working actively across the antenatal, postnatal, and labour wards. This isn't just a job title—it’s your guarantee. It means I am constantly updating my knowledge base, ensuring I only share the most relevant and up-to-date information in my classes.
Having supported everything from home births to emergency caesarean births, I offer a comprehensive and balanced perspective. You can be confident that with Behind the Birth, you will receive only relevant, trustworthy, and evidence-based information, leaving you empowered to do birth your way.
