Overview

Deciding on a planned caesarean birth can feel like a big deal, made even more daunting by the lack of antenatal education provided for parents in this position. But now, you're not alone! This course offers the chance to connect with others undergoing this journey, offering much needed peer support. We'll talk about options to personalise your birth and vital newborn care, ensuring you're empowered and confident to embrace parenthood.

There'll be introductions and the option to join the group WhatsApp, so you can continue to stay in touch with other parents. We'll start with talking about what to expect as your reach baby's birthday and how to prepare.  

What happens when you arrive on the day? We'll discuss exactly that, from the moment you arrive in hospital to the walk down to theatre.

Next up I'll take you through exactly what happens in theatre. We'll talk about who's who, what you're likely to feel, what theatre might look like and what all that beeping means! We'll also go through bonding with baby in theatre and the golden hour.

All important recovery. From the first hours to the first weeks, we'll talk about caring for you body and most importantly, being kind to yourself! 

The essentials of newborn care. I'll share with you my best newborn tips and tricks and explain the fundamentals of newborn behaviour. Finally, we'll take a deep dive into bottle and breast feeding.
